Sharon Logan, Paw Protectors Rescue, Paw Protectors, et al, received our first accountability report that we will be receiving for the next 2 years from OC Animal Care today in regards to our 24 page lawsuit and subsequent 48 page lawsuit and court settlement agreement in place via Sharon Logan in Logan vs OC Animal Care.

Sharon Logan, Paw Protectors Rescue, Paw Protectors, et al, and Sharon Logan’s attorneys received the Euthanasia list for all animals that were Euthanized at OC Animal Care for the month of October 2015.

Over 491 animals euthanized at OC Animal Care in a 31 day period.

So if you average the numbers of animals killed for the month of October, October has 31 days, it looks like this “shelter” killed about 16 animals each day, every single day of the month.

Sharon Logan stated: If that doesn’t make your blood boil it should.

Sharon Logan, Paw Protectors Rescue, Paw Protectors, et al will be releasing the entire data shortly.

Per Sharon Logan and Paw Protectors Rescue Attorneys.

Please review the analysis done by one of the attorneys, so can have a productive conference call tomorrow. Thanks.

Howard,

I added a column for number of days prior to euthanasia, then sorted by date. I highlighted in yellow all animals killed prior to the required hold period. I highlighted a subset in red whose deaths were most suspicious (no evidence that they met the criteria of (1) too young; (2) irremediably suffering; or (3) vicious/aggressive with documented history). I highlighted in orange those that seemed somewhat suspicious (those euthanized at owner request but that were pretty old thus likely suffering or those with contagious diseases, as a contagious disease does not clearly constitute “irremediable suffering”). I did not highlight the “head test” animals, as I am assuming that it relates to some type of health issue that may be serious, but hopefully Sharon or own of her peers will know what that means.

For all those animals labelled “too young,” I checked the dates and all were under 8 weeks. For the employees involved in the owner requested euthanasia group, I calculated which had the highest numbers, and employee “JA” was involved more than twice that of the other closest. I also removed most of the wild animals or very unique pets for ease of reference. It will be hard picking only 5 of a very large field.

“It is the policy of this state that no adoptable animal should be euthanized if it can be adopted into a suitable home unless it has manifested a sign of behavorial, temperamental defect or a sign of disease, injury or congenital hereditary condition. The state policy is clear that unless one or the other of those exists there is no basis to euthanize the animals. We know that the OCAC like many municipal shelters for the reasons we just discussed, claiming lack of resources, but also because they simply become callous and let’s face it, if it’s a job that you do day in and day out, it doesn’t take you long to figure out that the less animals you have to be accounted for and take care of the less work you have.”

“The law is the law, for the next two years as of the 10th of every month, I and Sharon Logan will be receiving as the court designated people, a list and identification of all animals euthanized in that prior month and we can choose at random whatever 5 animals we want further documentation on, so we will be looking over their shoulder and I assure you quite carefully, and that should have at least some kind of effect on the people working there. This is a battle that we will have to continue to fight.”

I think that in time, over a 2 year period, should have some effect on putting in place these procedures they have agreed to, learning to live with them and hopefully coming to the understand that doing it the right way produces more forever homes for these animals, and makes you feel better about yourself than doing it they way they have been doing it.”
